Charlie Devereux will cover Venezuela for GlobalPost. He has covered Caracas' spiraling homicide rate, inflationary economies in Latin America, cult religions and the politicization of Venezuela's movie industry. He worked as a photographer and photography publishing before moving into journalism in 2005. He has worked in London for the Daily Telegraph and CNN. He is a contributor to the Sunday Telegraph, the San Francisco Chronicle, openDemocracy.net and several oil publications. He was born and grew up in Panama, speaks fluent Spanish and has traveled extensively in the region.
